If I recall the innumerous accounts when I have been embarrassed because something went wrong with my attire, I could write a book on it. Anyway I never got to writing a book but I definitely started writing blogs to help my mates around the globe with some great tips that they can use. The prom season being around everyone has either got their dress or have atleast begun the process of finding their prom dress. So while each of us must try to attain the perfect fitting dress one can never help if the dress decides to act badly.
If you are wearing a strapless dress, just stick some double sided sticking tape underneath the neckline. There is a very famous story of a girl who was walking down the stairway and tripped on her dress and fell down. When she got up to her surprise one of her boobs had fallen out. I am sure you don't wish to start off your prom like this. A double sided sticking tape will hold your neckline in place avoiding such mishaps.
I once wore these awesome strappy dress with a really low back to a party. However, I fell ill and lost a huge amount of weight. After that when I wore the dress it looked quite good from the front but the straps kept falling off and Instead of mingling I was adjusting those all evening. Unfortunately, I could not do much. But try avoiding too much weight fluctuations and if that happens fall back on an alternative. You can always unveil the dress at some other party.
The funniest wardrobe mishaps are those when you can see girls wearing beautiful white dresses with their colored underwear peeping through. So remember to always wear nude underwear with invisible hem lines.
If you plan to wear a dress with sleeves and you are the kind who sweats a lot get those underarm pads. All you need to do is stick those on the stitching of the cuff line and it will soak all your sweat. As a precaution use them two weeks before the event so that you can test if you are allergic to it and get proper treatment for it. This is a great way to avoid wet looking under arms.
Over the years I have gone through some of these mishaps or seen other girls go through the same. I have learned through experience some of the small things that we can avoid by just have plain foresight. So my experience will be of great help to you and making you the shining star in your prom dress. So keep some safety pins, a small needle and thread and a double sided sticking tape always handy. They are more useful in your purse than your make-up.
